From Cars to Daycare: Christians are in the Relationship of Business
What do the auto industry and childcare have in common? For Barry Termaat, it's helping people find their way through emulating Christ. After over a decade in auto sales, his faith inspired him to shift gears and serve with Compassion Childcare—and help make a difference in the lives of families in need. Now, business isn’t just good—it’s God.

About Barry Termaat
As a member of Compassion Childcare’s board of directors, Barry Termaat finds meaning in helping families find peace of mind through affordable childcare services. His approach to his work is fueled by his faith and his drive to help those in need.
A self-proclaimed trained car salesman at birth, Termaat’s career officially started in 2002 with auto sales, financing, and managing several car dealerships—mainly for Billion Auto. His natural talents and passion eventually steered him down the path of Jesus, and earned him a board position with Compassion Childcare in 2014, where he has served for 11 years. He continues to train future care sales people on a part-time basis.
Outside of his service, Termaat finds meaning in his role as a husband to his wife, Jill, and a father to their 4 children. He has a passion for neighborhood ministry and refuels his tank through hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors.
